They have "enhanced" grab and go options since the restaurant is closed, "enhanced" means sandwiches and salads, and boy do you pay dear for for what you get, over $10 for what is essentially a subway sandwich, were soggy by the time we got them. I paid $5 for a small "ok" blueberry muffin for breakfast not including coffee. In addition, the prices in the convenience store (only place on site to get food, lite groceries, coffee or snacks) were absolutely insane. Overall we had a very pleasant stay but given lack of amenities this year, I'm not sure it warrants the outrageous price tag. Didn't see any animals nearby except deer. We did not find the drive from here to other notable sights in the park very long. Parked right behind the unit w/ no issues. The island they tell you that you can visit on the canoe is a lot farther than it looks! The view of the lake was super nice from the room. Word if you're going to rent a canoe, that lake is super clear and deep right off shore, make sure you're comfortable in a kayak w/ motor boats passing by in extremely deep water. We rented a canoe one afternoon from the marina office. Our room was a min drive to the convenience store for coffee in the morning and other groceries. The outside balcony is shared w/ a small gate to neighbors, that I was not expecting, but the balcony was very big. I got worried when I saw the signage in the room about keeping door shut to keep animals out and warning about hantavirus.then I realized there are chipmunks everywhere on the balcony which did not bother me. Our room was very nice and very clean, the area around the door inside the unit had spider webs but this is supposed to be a lakefront cabin feel after all. Husband and I stayed 3 nights in what they call an upper lakefront retreat unit in early Oct 2020.
